Offering extraordinary, one-of-a-kind pieces, building a community around them, and positioning philanthropy at the heart of the business, the company offered a completely new kind of retail experience.
Before
Three executives shared a small fourth-story office and a dream in Newport Center. Named after a lake bordering Italy and Switzerland, the Lugano brand and website’s dominating feature was dramatic, reflective water. Cutting edge at the time, however, Flash technology and ambient music would soon give way to much bigger initiatives.
After
Sixteen years, dozens of photo shoots, scores of partnerships, hundreds of events, thousands of ads, and millions of dollars raised for philanthropic organizations, Lugano Diamonds is a global brand and sells a $300M stake in the business and well on their way to a $1B valuation.
