Congrats! You’re a hotel owner.
How many stars are you getting?
Yup. You own a hotel now. Congrats. I have a few scenarios for you.
ONE: Your guests arrive. The drive to the valet is stunning. Perfect landscaping, perfect lighting, no wait, they are greeted with a smile, their bags are tended to, and they are directed toward the reception to check in.
They enter the lobby. It smells fantastic, there is soft music, fresh flowers, amazing art, and it’s a beautiful environment; they know exactly where to go and what to do. The energy is incredible, and they can’t wait to enjoy their stay.
Your guests effortlessly check in and find their way to their rooms thanks to the systems you’ve created. The room and view are even more impressive than the lobby. The tone is set for an amazing experience. Your guests are compelled to post on social, tell their friends, and are already discussing their next visit. They have a great time, get everything they wanted, and it’s a huge win.
Or…
TWO: Your guests drive up to your property, and something is off. There’s no valet, and they are just wandering around the entrance. They have high hopes, so they give it a chance and walk into the lobby after finding a parking spot. It’s dark, quiet, low energy, and there’s nobody there to help. Frankly, your hotel is dated and hasn’t been improved by an expert in years. Everything just feels off, so your guests leave. They quickly find a better solution and eventually tell all their friends about their experience at your hotel and how they avoided a disaster.
However, your hotel is also oceanfront, every room has amazing views, and every amenity under the sun. Still, your guests never got a chance to discover your value because their first impression turned them off, and they left.
So, which hotel (brand and website) do you own? Which do you want to own?
My name is Jonathan Mayer. I build hotels (brands), and I can help.
